QR Codes Part Deux

Jan 19, 2011

In an earlier blog post, we wrote about one of the more recent technology trends, QR (“Quick Response”) codes.

Today’s Commercial Appeal, is chock-full of these funny little images, and has an article on the front page of their Business Section detailing how they are going to start integrating them into their print media.

These codes allow you to quickly scan and access information without having to type anything-very nice when on the go! In most cases scanning these images will take you to a website or video, but they can also contain text, and can be a great way to exchange contact information with someone, instantly adding them to your address book -no hunting and pecking on little keyboards required!

Here at Coleman-Etter, Fontaine, we’ve started incorporating these codes into some of our advertisements and flyers, most recently, our ads in RSVP magazine. Readers will be able to go directly to our listings or open houses with just a quick scan.

Anyone with a Smartphone can install a scanner app, and start taking advantage of this new technology right away.  We have a list of some scanner apps, free and paid, available for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry, so start scanning!
